One of the focuses last night was the Ethos 3.7mm. I couldn't tell the difference the 110 degree & 100 degree. But all Ethos gave u a space walk feeling & were stunning! When the Ethos 3.7 was coupled with the UC18, the alignment became very critical. It took several times of alignment before satisfaction. The lunar geology under UC18 & 3.7mm was dazzlingly unveiled. At such high magnification, ~500x, the craters were big. Among those geology, I particularly liked the ridges. But last night's seeing was naughty! It ruined part of the resolution. The UC18 and Mono 4mm gave me a bright Saturn. Visually Ispotted 5 satellites, which I had never seen before! However, my bad skill in tracking the Saturn drove me crazy!
The brightness of the 8" APO is lower compared with UC18 for sure. However, I like its contrast & color saturation. although I could only see 4 satellites with 8" APO. The binoview and the 8" APO delivered very comfortable view of Saturn. The Paramount also gave me trouble free tracking which I suffer a lot in the UC18. So If I need to enjoy high power magnification of UC18, I need to sharpen my manual tracking skill.
