It's the festive seasons!! Hope everyone has had a great happy Christmas : D
This comet C/2011 W3 Lovejoy is a good Christmas present for us in the Southern Hemisphere.
It achieved its greatest brightness around the Christmas holiday - though I didn't see it ... blame the poor Sydney weather ... it has been cloudy and rainy
It has such a good name - Lovejoy
named after the astronomer with the last name as Lovejoy, what a good surename to have!!
With its "survival" after plunging into the Sun's atmosphere, it just reminded me of Love, Joy, and Hope in the festive season.
Wishing you all have hope, joy and peace in your hearts,
and days filled with warmth and love : )
Of course, clear skies!
I still stay up late every night till dawn hoping to see this comet.
I finally spotted it in the Christmas Eve morning by 4am, and captured it with camera.
It can be seen with naked eyes, even with bright lights in the foreground and poor seeing.
I have been wishing for the good weather and see if I can go to somewhere with premier dark skies to see it again.
These photos were taken on 24/12/2011, about 4am-5am.

Hope to shoot more nicer ones soon!!
