I am lucky to own the APM-TMB 105/650 & happy to know the price is going up now. I feel sorry for those missed the chance & at the same time the going up of the price tag shuts those noise makers' mouths up.

105/650 LW-II 望遠鏡 (APM Kruppax CNC 鏡筒、抱箍、Feather Touch 3.5" 調焦座) US$5495

The scope is probably the upper limit of a hand carry scope can be aboard. I know even the second hand market is hot for this scope. Although the APM APO leads the big APO market compared with other competitors, it would be interesting if Riccardi helps APM to design small APOs, say 50mm, 60mm etc. Guess what will happen...

對APM來說，做50或60小APO成本很高，80也太高了。

其實過去數年，130被視為best buy，在08金融海嘯前，130一直要付款後等數個月才有貨，之後才有一段時間要速銷及有現貨供應，我才把握機會買下全部98% Strehl的。好了現在全球庫存銷清，要買也要等到年底了，也不能挑Strehl的。

我對APM造80以下的小鏡其實興趣不是很大，試想若是兩片式，我懷疑不管是FC50, Borg 50或APM，是否有實質的意義，反而機械上造好些便成，但又總不成加個2"羽毛上去　

我可以這樣說，玩APM的愛好者是真正的玩折射鏡，一天到晚只拿台完美的76APO來品味，其實做不了什麼嚴謹觀測，真正的APO，是要像質也同時要口徑的，而一台APO，真的要到130、152以上才可看到動人心弦的景象。而真正具殺傷力的APO，是從203開始。所以香港高橋同學會裡面，其實沒有多少人真正看過什麼叫折射鏡的。

I sold one 152/1200 FK61/Lanthanum Doublet APO before, but this is not made by LZOS.

If both are of same quality, e.g., made by LZOS, for visual use, for the same money, then go for larger doublet than smaller triplet, e.g., LZOS 152 doublet performs better than LZOS 130 triplet, on planetary, lunar, deep sky.... etc.

for imaging, the LZOS 152 doublet + Riccardi 0.75x perform at the same level as triplet with the same reducer.

this 152/1200 FK61/Lanthanum Doublet APO performs a little behind the LZOS in terms of spherochromatism, hence the limiting magnification will be a slightly lower than LZOS.

Whether the extra money justify the performance difference? It's personal.

to most people, my 203APO weighs 30Kg, is too demanding, but a good quality 152APO doublet is still ok for AZ EQ5 for visual use.
