This is true, especially in the digital era.

Astrophotography now is more on operating a computer instead of taking picture under the sky.

Agree, sometimes I feel bad when I take photos on my roof top , I look down watching the computer rather than looking up

In the past, we always talked about dark adapt. This becomes unnecessary nor archivable as we look more on the screen than looking up.

Of course, with the current light pollution in Hong Kong, dark adapt is a history. I can read newspaper without any lighting at the usual imaging site!

這點我倒意見相反。

我以前人肉導星的年代更差,要在星空下低頭看目鏡不能離開。

現在好多了,架了東西在赤道儀上,又設定了程式快門繩,便可以去睡覺或目視,天亮時或天氣不好時,Boltwood Cloud Sensor便會自動關圓頂,看電腦只是白天的事。所以那張西藏的廣角Orion,我是拍得很舒適的 8-)
