Meteor showers, from Quadrantids to Geminids, provide us chances to lay back and relax in the void of the Universe. Although the best view time are usually between midnight and dawn on a moonless night, meteors still show themselves at unexpected time.
Meteor are tiny fragments of interplanetary material, but even a tiny grain can create a huge streaks of light. Meteor shower is a stream of these fragments which creates a mesmerizing show to us. So how do they form? And how do we prepare to observe them? This talk provides you tips and tricks for watching meteor showers.
Learning outcomes:
1. Explain the cause of the meteor shower.
2. Describe the history and development of meteor shower observation.
3. Learn how to prepare these annual events.

導師:
Mr. Savio Fong (方浩翔先生) is the Astronomy Instructor and the founder of Galaxy Scientific Group. The organization has provided technical and education service for local schools and institutions. He has conducted astronomy programmes for HKAGE. He has rich expertise in astronomy equipment and observatory construction around Asia such as Tibet, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
Mr. Law Siu Shan (羅小山先生) studied Astrophysics in Leicester, UK and got his master degree before pursue his doctoral research in Bremen, Germany. His research mainly covered the theory of Black Holes and extreme stars, such as neutron stars and white dwarves. He has also worked as a junior lecturer in University during his PhD study on introductory Astrophysics and computational simulations. He was also the founding assistant curator of the Ma Wan Solar Tower and worked for popular astronomy for 3 years.
