We are glad to announce a PixInsight workshop that will take place at the Bavarian Public Observatory in Munich, Germany, on October 26th and 27th. The workshop will be given by Vicent Peris, astrophotographer of the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Valencia (OAUV), Spain, and a principal member of the PixInsight Development Team.

This workshop has been conceived with a special focus on the active participation of the attendees. Each registered participant will be provided with a personal account on our file servers, where he or she will be able to upload raw data that will be worked out during the workshop. In this way the participants will have the opportunity to apply and understand the concepts and techniques described in the context of their particular imaging conditions.

The topics covered will be, among others, advanced gradient correction, HaRGB combination, image delinearization and dynamic range compression.

已經報名，週五離港週二回來。

也跟主講師Vicent打了招呼，介紹了自己的情況：天文愛好者，建了一個西藏遙控天文台，稍後從105/650APO升級至500口徑f3.8 RiLA攝星儀，前期拍攝可以但後期處理一竅不通，希望到德國跟大師學習正統技術，回來處理那兩年下來的百多個目標共2000小時曝光1TB圖檔.....

很快便收到Vicent回覆，他說自己的夢想也是有一天能到西藏拍深空....

可以預期，這次德國之行，亦是本年內第二次到德國，將會有學好影像處理以外的其他收穫，例如會否促成一些國際性的合作?

畢竟，我發現作為天文愛好者，若能在西藏建立自己的遙控天文台，是很容易跟其他的天文愛好者打開話題的。究竟原因，西藏根本就是多數天文愛好者可望不可即的夢。

今日收到邀請，在facebook上跟Vicent交了朋友

他提及很想來西藏做天文攝影，我說很樂意做嚮導。PixInsight裡有不少Module，那是我完全摸不著頭腦，但在高階天文攝影者交流間又不時提及的術語，Vicent提及那個HDRMultiscaleTransform tool是他開發的，可以應用在天文、醫學及其他範疇，會很樂意幫助我掌握應用竅門。

另外我們又交流了建立遙控天文台的心得，例如他最近會在摩洛哥建立一個遙控天文台，那裡最近測定的視寧度中值是0.55秒，海拔2500米，一年晴天率達300多天。

可以預期，這次旅程一如過往多年來我的每一次天文旅程，都會打開一扇跨地區合作的大門。

我的ACP要近2000美元，那才叫可觀

ACP的功能也算很强大的，ACP的可观就有点理所当然了。暂时对PixInSight了解不深，不宜置评；见过这里有同好用，有许多简单的功能都很好用的。

自從建立了西藏天文台，開始發現自己後期處理的不足，實在壞了大事。某程度上，書到用時方恨少然後迫自己去學，總比飽讀詩書但無用武之地優勝，前者來說甚至是一種褔份。

過去兩年，不斷看到高階攝星愛好者的交流，都會拋出不少jargon像空中格劍一樣，讓我十分自卑，所以一知道有這工作坊後沒兩天便報名了。

還記得初中時數學老師寫了一個微積分的Integration程式在黑板上，說一兩年後大家便要學，當時我們都苦惱，但老師也同時派定心丸，說不懂的時會被嚇死，懂了以後便笑死，事後也確實如此。

希望10月回來後不用再被那些jargon嚇怕，尤甚是有機會真接跟程式開發人交流學習，得到第一手資料，那是最好的。11月是我在西藏天文台投入運作2週年，開始換上Officina Stellare 500口徑 f3.8 RiLA 攝星鏡，同時也會合理掌握基本的影像處理技巧，終於可以把兩年拍下來的影像正式處理了。
