He was a well known Chinese theoretical astrophysicist. Apart from the June 4th event, being a political activist, one of his important and significant contribution was T3 model in astrophysics. Rest in peace.

我九十年代已跟南京大學、紫金山天台及南京光學厰的專家教授們交往，其實比北京的友人還要早，當時大家有一個禁忌就要不要提方勵之，雖然當年國內的天文專業界別才沒多少人，大家都相熟的。

那時候我不時帶大學生到南京上海蘇州考察，有一次也請了當年南大天文系主任方成教授及他的老師來座談，後來他當了院士。
