Last night we tried this F4 Pentax. The finish is good and the tube is strongly built. In terms of visual performance, it certainly cannot beat nowadays APO. The CA is similar to a good ED doublet. The photo spoke for the photographic performance already. I would say it is a good collector items.

as the owner of this telescope, personally I would be a little more conservative, the CA is about a normal ED doublet, not bad for such a short focal ratio, but definitely not comparable to those high class ED doublet, like those F8 or F10 ones, e.g., Nikon 100 F10 ED doublet.

of course, this telescope is not for high resolution visual work, so still very good for its intended purpose - wide field deep sky, comet, lunar or solar eclipse work.
