i have been wanting to try this for a long while. it was no trivial task mechanically getting it all together and succeeding. this week had a very high failure rate (for all kinds of reasons) but in the end i learned a lot and look forward to more success in the future.
aside from the mechanical challenges of putting the system together and running the imaging session, camera lenses (even good ones) are pretty poor quality compared to a quality refractor. and the under sampling from the short focal length lens with the STL-11000M leaves something to be desired in the image quality.
