From what I tried before, an exposure of 1/100 sec. still not fast enough to "freeze" particular part of the Sun.
As my current setup not allow me to use expsoure shorter than 1/100 sec., thus I don't how short is sufficient to beat the seeing.

I can use shorter than 1/100s at a focal length of 2250mm on prominence with LS152T. This is much better than LS100T which requires around 1/30s.

David, shall we build an 8" reflector with uncoated optics, then modify it into a LS203T with your Ha module?

Oh ya...I forgot that when I use 1/100 sec. is not enough, this is because I magnified the Sun quite big...about 4400mm.
I think by shorten the focal length to about 2000mm, that will be another story...

Regarding using uncoated reflector, I think there will have problem on scattering light from the bottom of the mirror.
As the glass is uncoated, so lights can pass through the 1st surface and reflect at 2nd surface, we might get double image.
Thus, I suggest at least coat a low reflectivity coating on the glass to constraint the light just from the 1st surface.

I know what you mean, that really depends on which type of glass you use, e.g., dark & zero expansion one, I forget the source in Germany

anyway, low reflectivity coating may be easier. You know I have a LS75F unobstructed etalon, if I build a 203 reflector with lower reflectivity, I keep the light level within safe limit yet achieving very high resolution.
