Dxxxx 兄有一份XX情意結，任何新購的器材都堅持要自己開箱，但這次我出於好奇心，所以先下手為強，請見諒....

Honestly, I don't expect much from this because I have used LS100T with LS100F in double stack mode, and it didn't blow me away as I saw all the details in single stack mode anyway. However, many of my students really find it easier to see the details of the double stack image, especially for beginners. So this DSII is really for them.

However, I am sure that the Daystar Quark eyepiece is not for me. The August issue of Astronomy Now has a review and it says that it takes 15 minutes for the etalon to reach the correct temperature. Also, my students and I enjoy full disc view much more than high magnification view. This cannot be delivered by the Quark eyepiece unless one uses a small refractor with very short focal length.

I will have 5 combinations to try and compare:

1. LS100F single
2. LS100T single
3. LS100T+LS100F double stack
4. LS152T single
5. LS152T+DSII double stack

DSII is really expensive and honestly it is probably not worthwhile at all if I don't have so many students to share it with.

60T在目視上還欠缺一些 , 我是沒問題但學生在太陽底下黑子是容易看見 , 但日面上的結構學生反而''眼力不夠''而錯失一些細緻部分 , 只能靠拍攝呈現 , 希望100T目視上會有出色的效果。

我的是半開玩笑，不用太認真。

double stack is not for imaging, too dim.

just set the Gamma lower and you will got similar effect as double stack system.

so for the same money, but bigger, single stack system.

今天xxxxd兄來提貨，也帶了自己的LS152T來，星河科研社提供免費安裝服務。

xxxxd兄看來提得很吃力，但我事忙無暇陪他步行回火車站，故略盡綿力，幫他按一下升降機鍵便算了....

Some students and I had a quick look during lunch time at low magnification (full disk). Here are some quick impressions:

- With LS152T single mode, the solar disc is very bright, washing out some details although they are certainly observable.

- After adding the DSII, as expected, the contrast is much better. But I won't say that the image blows me away. The disc is still very bright. As I like to see bright image, so that's good. There is a big prominence and it was as lovely in double as in single.

- When compared with my memory of LS100T+LS100F double mode, the double stacked 100mm image is already not very bright for my taste. But the dark filaments seem to be more darker and more obvious in 100mm, perhaps due to the dimmer image.

- So it seems that LS152T+DSII is best used with binoviewer so that the image can be dimmed a bit more. Perhaps the brightness I get then will be just what I like. I'll also try higher magnification later.

當年廖生跟我說，生命太短，要玩的器材大多，沒時間DIY了，Raymond考慮現成的吧....

當然我同意Lunt應在LS152T、LS230T之間加一個型號，例如LS180T或LS200T之類的。
