Cooled CCDs are expensive equipment. For ultimate performance, it is the direction to go. However, cooled CCDs may not affordable for most imager like me. If I can explore the potential of DSLR for over 80%, I would be happy. It means that I can make a good use of it. Sometime taking decent photos with my equipment is just like exploring 50% potential of my equipment. It's a pass. It should be the case & nothing special! What makes a imager different is that the photos are well above the norm of those with similar equipment. A Ferrari guy drives faster than a Toyota guy is nothing special. What is real special is that if a Toyota guy can follow the Ferrari guy.
So at the moment, I will practice more with my equipment & explore their full potential. Finally I always remind myself that economy equipment shouldn't be the excuse of bad photos.
