Filters for visual observations

Much of my experiences are on imaging. After some reflections, I would like to do more on visual and enjoy and understand the sky more. I don't mean I would stop imaging, but squeeze time for visual. Anyway, after consulted some experienced visual observers and browsed Internet, the two most important visual filters are UHC & OIII. Any brands recommended?

你手上有V4， P2，我也有Astronomik及Skywatcher UHC，你可以借去試試，到時交份報告便可以。
不過你手上那台Dob 12口徑會不會有點小? 現在Astrocafe的起步目視鏡是16"反射或8"APO折射
抱歉，習慣了西藏的天空，Dob 16 GOTO看任何星系都有漩臂結構的，要求比較高些：

Can P2 & V4 be used for visual? I suppose they are for imaging. OK! Next time when I go to ur office, lend me ur UHC and let be try them.

Maybe consider later. Too many automation, GOTO, may cripple my determination in understand the sky!

why not.
當然若能夠在高質量天空，用大口徑測試會更理想，我剛數次去西藏也有帶足這4片濾鏡，只是每次都因為工作壓力，體力透支而放棄晚上再觀測。

在西藏，亮星及暗星分別並不明顯，沒有GOTO我找星很困難，連瞄輦道增七也瞄錯，這情況在台灣也不會出現。

I tried the P2, V2, CLS and Celestron LPS visually. Except an occasion some 10+ years ago I tried the Celestron LPS using a C8 on M27 in Cheung Chau, I prefer no filter visually.
Moreover, I think these filters shall only come into play where there is sufficient aperture.

我的體驗有些不同，在石澳一次聚會，203APO + Binoviewer + LPS filter，看M42效果遠勝集光力5倍的Obsession 18UC，那是當晚很出席愛好者，很一致的結論：

我相信社長那次是不同種類及setup的比較, 而我所測試的是同一支鏡同一個目鏡同一個目標, 加唔加光害濾鏡對於自己目視的感受.

當然也有自身的比較，在203APO上，用了LPS濾鏡，星雲的細節及對比度明顯提升。
在18UC上也是，試過一次在西貢斬竹灣，天氣不理想，也要用上LPS濾鏡去看星系，那是無辦法中的辦法了：
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=362我認為P2濾鏡的通用性比較高，因為相對於一般的V2、UHC、CLS濾鏡，後者是容許“有用”的星雲光譜通過，而P2則只拿掉有害的光害，所以P2的色彩表現較平衡，我只在很特別的情況下才用V4的：
