My first DSI: M8 & M20

After playing around with solar, lunar & planetary imaging, this is the first time I do DSI. This image is jointly taken with 社長. The seeing was so so tonight and the clouds were just running around and made us lost guiding star several times! We can only photo one M8 & M20 before the moonrise. Although we have taken a few M8 & M20, I don’t know how to use DSS & I was too excited to wait till tomorrow and to read the DSS document etc. Just use the PS to tune the Level & Curve. Here is the photographic detail:
APM-TMB 80/600
TS flattener (Zero Power)
5D II
LVI I
HEQ5Pro
Single frame (180s)
No flat field and no dark field
100% chop and 25% resize

It's great for me, I'm still think that "Can I use my MK127 to take DSI like this?".

sure Lewis you can do it, you got all equipment needed for these nice images, practice make perfect, let's learn from Wolf

But I'm still cannot do the alignment very good. For DSI, I think the most important is "ALIGNMENT AND TRACKING SPEED".

如昨天所說，以深空拍攝來說，我個人會分成兩部份，
- 先期拍攝的調焦、追蹤、合理曝光、匹配的濾鏡及平場鏡等
- 後期軟件處理
由於後期處理可以反複嘗試，及慢慢累積經驗，所以我個人很注重前期工序，其實我們昨天的導星鏡及赤道儀足以應付你的Mak 127的，或許下次出動時拿來試試

1. The guide scope is a modified finder scope of effective focal length of 350mm
2. LPS-V4 is used

為方便LVI用戶，我打算為大家訂造一批這樣的導星鏡，因為可以照顧長至700mm的攝星鏡，足夠大部份同好的需求了。

This modified guide scope is very handy! Just like Mc Donald's bugger! I am loving it.... The principle is no complication, no extra weight & no extra money.

坦白說，連LVI公司也想不到這台小導星鏡的威力如此大。
昨日我拿一台 Galileoscope 試一下，發現有一定可能性，配合LVI可以導1000甚至2000mm的攝星鏡，希望從台灣回來後可以試一下，那我的203APO、你的M8、David的Equinox 120都可以輕鬆拍深空了。

https://www.galileoscope.org/gs/我手上有一台，不過作為導星鏡尚屬構思中，能否發揮表現尚時未知之數。
現時看，以LVI導星，50mm口徑是很好的，但若赤道儀很差，60mm口徑會加快修正速度，有明顯效益。
