Maldives december

Just came back from maldives for my 30th B-day. I have bring 80/480 with camera tripod and a 12x36 IS canon binocular there.

I stayed in an in-ocean villa, i can observe the sky comfortably on the roof top, although there are light pollution from security lights, i can see the milky way. It's appearance was not very clear, like a long long cloud, it's the first time i see it! I think it's a cloud at first glaze but i discovered that it doesn't move and i can see lots of faint star there though my binocular, I noticed it was the milky way and confirm it by checking iphone apps.

First I observe the sky though the 80/480, due to the aperture limitation, i can only search for brighter DSO, the appearance are look more as the same as I seen it in PTC.

As I am a newbie in astro, I learn and search constellations and DSO slowly with the help of iphone apps. While I was observing using the the 80/480, my gf keep telling me she seen a lots of meteors. After I finished my self-taught star hopping lesson, I lie down enjoy the stars and milky way. We count meteor together, surprisingly we count more than 30 meteors in half an hour!! some of them are very bright and some have very very long tail.

Next day, I search through internet, I found that it was the Gemini meteor shower. we than book a dinner in a distance 'no people island' hoping that we can have dinner under the meteor shower. Finally we end up have dinner under a bright moon light ( i forget to check the moon time) and a storm begun just after we finished our dessert. And afterward, every night are cloudy....

讀完後讓我有置身其中的感覺，我沒有到過馬爾代夫，那裡整體光害跟香港哪裡相近? PTC或是更暗?

若以80/480掃銀河，一個匹配的目鏡是很重要的，那種感覺不像大鏡，但每一個都很晶瑩剔透。有點像我上月在西藏4300海拔，零下六七度用Nikon 10x25雙筒掃深空吧，有點像看大野裕明先生的"星雲星團案內"的感覺吧。有機會下次觀星召集時，跟你分享一下用小鏡配星圖尋星的樂趣 - 我個人較喜歡用赤道儀做Star hopping的。

我個人對GF這類"無鏡單反"很感覺趣，希望有一天可以放棄重型的5D Mark II，瀟灑一點上路，一般來說，若不是為拍星，我只會帶Ricoh GR Digital的，以前不會想到一枝28mm定焦鏡可以走天涯...

自問個人的旅程太多理性、數據、壓力，就算在西藏那種要命的地方，也要從暖暖的床上爬起來拍星，為的就要要一些"交待"，十年前在溫哥華及Banf看星的經歷久違了，那晚在沙灘上，就在狹小的雲隙中，在女友的許願下，即時亮了兩顆火流星 很希望有一天能像你一樣純享受的欣賞星空，期待你更多這類感性的分享

PTC light pollution more, at least i can see milky way in maldives
my gf gone to africa this summer, due to hotel need to conserve electricity, all light shut down at night, she said she can see milky way clearly in a zero light pollution condition, at that time she cant even see her shoes! for her, this time in maldives is too bright comparatively, for me, it's the darkness night i ever seen. we both enjoy the moment as we could see the meteor shower together.

去旅行遊玩就要輕身上路, 太重行李或心裡包服就不夠蕭灑，
輕便是大前提下, 下次可能只拿個雙筒便算， David 提過的15x50應該比12x36理想.
小鏡目視不太可觀, 如果戴鏡要個 aperture 大一點的, maybe 遲些買個 litescope 12" or 16"
影星始終要canon改機影, 加個 CD1 / TP1 好了

遲些組合可能係:
photography: 1: 80/480 + HEQ5 + canon camera
2: canon lens + canon camera + TP1
目視 1: 15x50 canon binocular
2: litescope 12"/16"

Well lots of thinks to be buy in future,
at this moment 還是用好現有的, 將來買什麼就慢慢來

若有一台12、16"牛反同行，星空景像可以極度狀觀的，因為不同再掙扎於看到與看不到之間，那些星系漩臂是最有挑戰性的，還有星雲的顏色　

有個說法，我某程度上認同，在光害很少的地方，伸手不見五指是一個指標，但在完全沒光害的地方，星光太亮了，銀河是可以把人的影子照到地上去，報紙的大字標題是可以在銀河照耀下看到的。

若是拍攝的，80/480+EQ5 Pro夠了，HEQ5 Pro是會順滑些，但也重得多。EQ5 Pro的好處是可以把緯軸拆下來，只用極軸及下面的仰角及水平微調對極軸，也可改用短腳，那便可以很輕攜但同時照顧一些TP1不能承載的長焦鏡。

TP1應是很好的，看過不少優秀作品。

但千萬不要在那裡觀星，在後山有一個觀星點，李大哥帶我去過，要麼租車(可連司機)前往，上武嶺、昆陽、小風口、石門山等，一小時車程。應是你能方便去到但又最舒服的3000海拔地點。

白天有很多地方遊玩的。
